Hannah Ampe Photography

recent work

Congrats to my sweet client, Hannah Ampe on the launch of her new photography branding! Hannah is a Minnesotan and destination wedding photographer. She's recently hitched, so she was looking for branding that involved her new last name and helped support her transition from Iowa to Minnesota. Hannah also was looking for a new look that could speak directly to her dream clients - adventurous couples who love an amazing client experience.

When I began working with Hannah, one of the things that really struck me was just how dang cool and adventurous she was. Her and her husband spent the first half of the year traveling around the world and within the U.S., talk about #goals. She loves the great outdoors and I wanted to be sure that her new branding totally reflected her happy personality. We landed on a fun, whimsical script for her primary logo that could be also used throughout some of her other collateral for a cohesive look. On her secondary logos, I utilized a loose, leaf drawing to reference the outdoors, but also a stamp to reference her love for travel. We went with a fairly neutral, nature inspired palette with a dark, forest green, black, neutrals and a mauve tone. Her photography style is fairly moody and in the moment too, so it was important that we stayed away from anything too light and airy. For her secondary font, we went with a classic serif to also help convey her natural look. Hannah isn't about the posey photos - she'd rather capture her bride and grooms in the moment and her branding speaks to that.

For her website, I wanted to be sure to highlight her gorgeous photos. We used large banner photos across each page so that her visitors knew what she was all about. I also used a number of collage treatments and overlapping with the leaf design to further her whimsical look. To check out hannah's site, you can check it out at hannahampephoto.com
