For Olive and Pine business owner Ashley, it’s never been just about making candles. It’s about the entire creative process behind the scenes. It’s about creating an eco-friendly, non-toxic product that’s truly safe for people to burn in their homes. It’s about the joy that comes from making something and the pride that goes into the small batches of hand-poured candles.
Soooooo with all of that passion what could be wrong!? Ashley had an Etsy site, she was producing a great, high-quality product but her business was still at a standstill. Enter: Brighten Made.
Through branding and custom packaging design, we created a fully branded experience that gave Ashley the confidence she needed to show up and market her small business successfully.
The Struggle
Ashley reached out to Brighten Made after feeling totally stuck with her branding. She wasn’t confident in her current brand and wasn’t satisfied with the overall look and feel of it. This led to being unable to stay consistent, not feeling productive, and not showing up on social media which was starting to hurt her sales! She knew she had to make a change and that investing in branding was the right move.
The Goal
A modern, warm, and inviting branding experience that gave Ashley the confidence she needed to promote her products and her business while also making her customers feel welcome when purchasing her products and relaxed as they burned the non-toxic candles in their homes.
The solution
By taking a clean, modern sans-serif and giving it a bolder weight we were able to create a more playful, relaxed feel to Olive and Pine’s primary logo. We supported this by bringing in hand-written, scripted elements to create a welcoming, organic feel. We furthered the welcoming and inviting feel by leaning into a warmer color palette with a few pops of unexpected color. By taking a well-rounded approach to the palette we blended warm tones with neutral and a few cooler tones which helped keep things modern, refined, and relaxed in nature while still leaning into the playful side of things.
We showcased more of the warmth and comfort feeling of Olive and Pine by creating abstract, artistic patterns that mixed touches of color with neutral tones. Through the custom illustrations and pattern designs we furthered the personality of the brand and helped to create an overall playful, organic, and abstract feel. These patterns and illustrations, set Ashley up for success as she began creating social posts and as we dove into her packaging designs!
